Mike Marolt leads a 25-person sales and marketing team for Lakeland and also serves as a member of the Lakeland Companies Executive Leadership Team. Mike has been with the organization for more than 40 years and has seen first-hand its evolution from an electrical distributor to a complete provider of electrical component and system solutions for growing industrial companies throughout the Midwest.
Mike originally joined Lakeland in 1972 as an inside sales rep before taking over a new territory in an outside sales role. He spent much of his career with Lakeland Engineering Equipment Companies, ultimately becoming vice president of sales, a role he held for eight years.
More recently, Mike has spearheaded the creation of a unified sales force for all of the Lakeland Companies in order to provide a more seamless buying experience for customers. This means sales of everything from components to custom products to installation and service are the responsibility of a single team. He is now extending this effort to marketing and communications to build a more unified Lakeland brand experience.
Mike has also sought to establish more committed partnership relationships with existing customers while pursuing growth for Lakeland within strategic industry segments like grain and energy. By developing deeper knowledge of industry specific business challenges across Lakeland, the company can bring more value to customers through both everyday service and breakthrough innovations.
Mike is a member of the National Association of Electrical Distributors. A central Minnesota native, Mike received his B.A. degree in education from Mankato State University (now Minnesota State at Mankato). He now resides in Greenfield, Minn.
