Since 2008, Doug has been responsible for services across all of the Lakeland Companies, and he also serves as chief operating officer of Process Measurement Co. (PMC), Lakeland Technical Services and CACO Services. Doug focuses on building a seamless services experience for customers, whether they are buying, designing, building, installing, maintaining or calibrating products.
Doug first joined PMC in 1978 as a technician for industrial measuring products. He was subsequently promoted to lab supervisor, lab manager and ultimately executive vice president. In that time, he witnessed and helped achieve significant business expansions for the company — both geographically and in terms of the company’s test and measurement capabilities. Originating in Minneapolis, the company subsequently expanded to Omaha, Neb., Denver and Kansas City, Mo. PMC also expanded its technical capabilities by adding application engineering and process control and building a metrology lab for calibration. Today, the company serves both industrial and OEM customers.
After leaving Lakeland in 2001, Doug returned to found Lakeland Technical Services in 2008 as a way to provide improved continuity of services for process manufacturing customers. The new company services products used at process manufacturing facilities whether they were sold by the Lakeland Companies or by another distributor. Today, the company also closely collaborates and shares technical talent with CACO Services, which provides installation services for electrical and instrumentation products like PLC/DCS systems and networks.
A native of Cloquet, Minn., Doug studied engineering at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and industrial electronics at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis.
